Mavis G. (Ratcliffe) Lunsford, 81, of Durham, formerly of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly at her home Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Ratcliffe and Mary E. (DeLoach) Ratcliffe. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a deaconess, and Anderson Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Durham County 4-H Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Shelly Twitty of Blackwell; and a son, Mike Lunsford of Walterboro; four grandchildren; eight great-grand
