What’s New in the Perforce Ant Tasks?

Perforce Ant Tasks is a project for development of the client side of Perforce.
The tasks are performed by using a tool named p4ant.

//How to use:
You can use one of the following ways to run the command.
– Using the command line tool p4ant.jar: To run this command you need to run the command java -jar p4ant.jar
– Using the Eclipse project p4ant.core.xml: To run this command, you need to run the right-click on the project (p4ant.core.xml) and select Run as. (Eclipse will ask you where to execute the script)

We have recently created this project to automatize some of the development process.

We hope that this project will be helpful for you to develop your own client application.
If you have any issues with this software, please let us know by contacting us.

How to use:
It’s possible to use the java com.perforce.p4ant.p4ant ant task to open the required file and retrieve the information contained in the client side of Perforce.

An ant task is composed by the name of the target to run and the arguments which are passed to the file. If you want to run several tasks, you can run the target of the first task and all the others using the ‘&&’ operator.

p4ant is the ant task that executes the action of the command p4 opened (similar to the command line tool p4) to open the file and retrieve the information stored in the client side of Perforce.

p4ant.properties

p4ant.properties is a configuration file for p4ant.

The syntax of the file is explained below.

Here is an example:

This file is used to manage the database connection from the command line with the java tool.

The lines beginning with % symbol are comments.
They have no effect on the execution of the file.

A line starting with %USER can be used to specify the user.

A line starting with %PASSWORD can be used to specify the password.

A line starting with %P4HOME can be used to specify the location of the Perforce server (the default is to use the value of the P4HOME environment variable).

For example:

# The following line is useful to start p4ant.java with the username myname and password mypassword:

-user myname -password mypassword

%USER, %PASSWORD, and %P4HOME are optional

It is also possible to specify the database connection using a URL instead of a file.
For this, the user connection is specified with the %USER, %PASSWORD, and %P4HOME parameters, and the
